Hi there are a few creches in HK, but they are geared towards low-income families.

Have a look at the ones provided by the HK Society of Protection of Children

Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children

Just noticed the fee is in the $5000 range, and it will be cheaper to hire a helper.

Hi Aswini, i looked into the Society for Protection creche when our daughter was a few months old and it's quite nice however waiting list is v, v long and it's for underprivileged families first and foremost as Editor mentioned, therefore if you can afford a Helper that's probably really the easiest solution.

I come from a country (France) where creches are parents' big favorite and people fight like crazy for a spot when they're 4 months pregnant, but daycare doesn't really seem to work here given salary of helpers - on the other hand kids can start "classes" at the age of 6 months (Tutor Time etc) plus so if you want your child to be "socialized" then those might be another way for your child to be with other kids for a few hours a week. I just visited Tutor Time out of curiosity, I cannot remember the fees exactly though but I think at least HK$2,000 plus for twice a week for the very young kids but of course you should just check with them. Facilities are nice though!

Lots of us organize playdates for our kids, in my case I found a few other working moms and our kids (7 months) "get together" every week at one of our flats. For now i think it's more to break the monotony of our helper's week but who knows, maybe the kids do benefit....
