We just went through this process with our 2 kids. First thing is to make sure you get the application dates and send it in on time, it varies by each school. Your child will have an assessment; it was 1 hour for my daughter for PY1 and 3 hours for my son in P1. For my son, he had written, oral in English and Chinese. For my daughter it was oral and observation. My son did not do well in the Chinese test so we were called in by the principal to discuss what steps we would take to prepare him which was a very fair question since we both don't speak Mandarin. Despite his weak Chinese, they accepted both our kids. My children do not have Singapore citizenship. I am the only one in the family that is Singaporean. I am happy with the school, the curriculum is a good balance between Singapore and International and the teachers are very helpful and communicative. If you have any questions, please send me a private message and we can discuss more.
