Ironic, but true: Now that our 4-year-old is finally in a bilingual English/Putonghua kindergarten -- his Mandarin is slipping. He used to speak with a rich vocabulary and in perfect tones at home, but it seems he has been picking up on the verbal habits and errors of his classmates, many of whom are from non-Mandarin speaking homes.
Short of pulling him out of that school.... Are there classes and activities in Mandarin that cater to little kids who are native speakers rather than those trying to acquire it as a second or third language? I'm not looking for language lessons, but fun activities, classes and programs where only Putonghua is spoken and he could regain/maintain his verbal dexterity while having fun, and perhaps even make some Mandarin-speaking friends. He's not much into art, but he loves music, books, pre-chess, and physical activities like soccer, swimming and gym
