Its a very popular British school and they have a major issue with exodus in upper years. Many of their students end up leaving and going to boarding schools in the UK which leaves them with many openings in the high grades.
Because it will be his last year of school (12th grade in American system) Kellet will not work. They want him for two years as well. So does the Australian International School.

    Thanks for the suggestion though!

Thank you for your suggestions. What we are doing at this point is applying to HKIS and keeping our fingers crossed. In the meantime, my son and I will stay here and hubby will head to Hong Kong in a few months. If my son gets in to HKIS, we will head to HK in the summer. If he does not get in to HKIS, my son and I will stay behind so he can finish high school here. Then I'll get him settled into a univerisity in the summer of 2014 before joining my hubby in HK. In the meantime, there will be trips to HK for us and hubby will come back here once or twice as well. Not the ideal solution but it is one that will work.

As for losing in-state tuition, we are also keeping that in mind as we move forward. So many decisions!

    Thanks for the advice penguinsix!

Look into Elsa High School. Its a Jewish school looking to "up" its international stream. They do offer a regular diploma program to those not doing IB.
