Hi. We are looking at, and have applied to, several schools in HK, including Hong Kong Academy, CIS, and one of the ESF schools. In talking to several parents, I've heard 2 negatives about CIS. Both had to do with the impression that as you move up into middle school and high school, friendships become harder as the majority of the students are Cantonese-speaking Candian-born Hong Kong Chinese and that children who aren't native Cantonese speakers are sometimes left out a bit. We're big fans of diversity, and with a daughter heading quickly toward puberty and tight with her friends now, it's important to us to know that she'll have a strong friendship group at school. It's a little troubling to me that both negatives have had to do with the same issue. Any thoughts?
