    The Harbour School - opinions?

Hello, we are moving to Hong Kong in March and would like to get some opinions on the Harbour School. We actually have an offer at another international school, but our son has just been diagnosed with mild dyslexia and has difficulty with his reading and language work.. we are wondering if The Harbour School might be more suitable for him?

We are concerned about the possibility of the school moving? I understand they can stay where they are only until 2016? Was there some talk of a move to Kowloon? Can anyone give me an information or opinions?

I guess the big question - does the quality of the teaching make up for the lack of facilities?

I cannot recommend THS highly enough. Our son is in Grade 6 and is thriving. The low teacher/student ratio (about 13 students to 2 teachers which is unique in HK) means that the children get a lot of attention, differentiated learning and customised homework. We moved our son from a school with 30 children in a class and he has excelled over the last three years and is now confident and happy. The school will know in a few weeks time if it has been successful in securing a school site in Ap Lei Chau (HK Island) and if so, will relocate in August 2015. Although the facilities may be lacking, many extra-curricular activities are offered and take place at the school or nearby facilities. Good luck with your choice!

Thank you so much! We have him accepted elsewhere but if they do get the school site in Ap Lei Chau I think it would be a perfect environment for him. We are arriving in March so will try and visit the school then.
