Funful Sears Rogers and American International are ok schools but I would consider them as backup schools and not your first choices.
I second AParent.
Thanks Dear Jomama & Aparent for ur views..
but dear as u all know that getting admission in ESF seems next to impossible for this year due to long long waitlist..n sitting here in India n searching for gud school for my 6yr old daughter is really very very tough..as v r planning to relocating in the month of June..so started search now..but it is very difficult until n unless u see the school..
our criteria for schools are
IB Curriculum Schools(which v can find out only few some are very expensive)
Fees shud nt be excceding more than HK$10000
Medium of Teaching shud be english
If you guys know schools of these kinds..can help me a lot n it would b of grtt help
Thanks
Dear Jomama & Aparent..
if u guys have any idea about Delia Mei Foo Primary Schools..as Delia School of Canada is charging $2300 per mnth for ESL..which is quite high for us..so luking for another options..
Pls if any of ur fren kid is going to this schools ..pls gve me the contact of that person so that i can get the feedback from them only..
Thnks..hpe i m not bothering you again n again
If budget is an issue and the medium must be IB English, then ESF is the way to go, and we all know how difficult it is to get a spot. Must the school be IB? Since the reason for the high cost is usually because of the high payment the school must submit to the IB organization each year for their license to teach IB. ESF has government subsidy at the moment, but that may not last long either. That's probably why AIS(American curriculum) and Sear Rogers (British curriculum) are not as expensive in comparison. Interesting how you were asking us for an IB school with a price limit while the two schools you listed are not IB to begin with...
I do not know anyone going to Delia Mei Foo Primary Schools.
Thanks jomama fr ths rep..v knw vry well to get into ESF schools.z realy tough rather to say impossible ths year..n knwing all this fact tht all schools v r trying they dont provide IB CURRICULUM..so v r left wth only 2options tht ths year putting our child in any other primary schools n in the mnth of sep we vll apply inESF SCHOOLS....fr the next session..what do u say jomama..wud appreciate ur comment on this..thanks
As you said, I don't think you have much of a choice given your limitations. Honestly IB at the primary level is pretty weak. They don't teach the basics such as spelling and arithmetic well at PYP. Going British or American instead of IB at the primary level is not such a bad option compared to PYP. Your girl can always try for ESF later on. I guess at this point you just need to get her into a school and see what other options you have once you have your feet grounded in HK.
