    Kellett v ESF??

My son has been offered a place at Kellett starting this year, if we don't accept he will go to ESF next Sept. I like that Kellett has small class sizes but can't really see any other advantages.

Can anyone give me any other pros and cons of each school?

can you let us know which esf school? i see you are in midlevels, so i would guess either glenealy, peak or kennedy?

each esf school is quite individual. glenealy and peak are small, so everyone in the school knows each other, and it has a great community feel. glenealy is known for having a very active pta and active parent involvement.

kennedy is much larger, with five yearbands per year, but offers other bonuses such as being right across the road from stanley ho sports centre...a huge bonus!

i know kids who have gone to kellett and who have been very happy there.

How lucky to have the choice!

We were told that we'd have to wait 'til 2010 or 2011 for a place at Kellett and we didn't even get an interview for ESF.

For my children I would prefer the smaller school (more intimate and responsive to the individual child is how I imagine it).

Hope he loves it, wherever he goes!

Just to update you - I was told by Admissions that the waitlist is 70 for my daughter's year and even if we could get a Corporate Debenture it would still be 10 !!

Ok may seem like a lot, but people do move up the waitlists fairly quickly. Some families apply to multiple schools, and will accept the first one that has a space. Also, many families are being localized and loosing their education allowances, and the kids are being transferred to less expensive international schools.

    Hang in there.
