MNE Curriculum. What is all the fuss about?

Follow this link to read what "Moral and National Education" is all about, straight from the horses mouth (ie. the EDB).

The learning objectives of the MNE Curriculum Guide are to cultivate students' values and attitudes, based on universal values (including human rights), enabling students to be moral, think independently, be open-minded and become part of their family, society, the country and even the global village.

The fuss is ... as if someone still have not noticed ... Hongkong and China are two very different societies with very different values and attitudes, it is not about implementing MNE but CHINA's MNE in Hongkong.

Oh yes I can hear a certain group of people saying it is one country therefore Hongkong must be gradually integrated into China so Hongkong's values and attitudes ought to be replaced by China's, and implementing China's MNE in Hongkong will ensure that "harmonious" eventuality. For this group I have this to say ... if China's society and values and attitudes are what you crave, please consider packing up and relocate to China which is just a 40 minute train ride away and thus attain instant bliss and harmony, rather than wait for Hongkong to morph which may take 40 years.
